Mirar
‘Mirar’ is a duet that explores the relationship between the observer and the observed, questioning how our perception of others shapes the way we see – and exist in – the world. A gaze is never neutral; it weaves meanings, projects stories, and reshapes reality. What we see is filtered through experience, emotion, and context – revealing as much about ourselves as about what’s right before us.
Since 2013, Iron Skulls Co has expanded the boundaries of movement, innovating through the hybridization of breaking in performing arts, with the goal of cultural transmission. The essence of the company combines the sensitivity of contemporary dance with the strength of urban dance and theatre, transcending the limits of movement disciplines.
Jogo de Dentro
'Jogo de Dentro', literally translated as “the inner game”, tells the story of two individuals bound by a sense of predestined connection. Inspired by an Angolan capoeira game, the piece traces an internal journey from innocence to deeper self-awareness. Rooted in Black Lusophone culture from Brazil and Angola, the duo’s artistic expression explores their shared heritage, transporting us into a sensory, dreamlike universe. Memories resurface and color the present moment, as personal narratives and shared legacies intertwine on stage.
Born into a family of dancers, Kaê Brown Carvalho (FR) followed his parents Michelle Brown & Armando Pekeno’s (Cie Ladaïnha) tours from an early age. Trained in capoeira and contemporary dance, he transitioned to b-boying in 2011, founding Les Ratz crew in Rennes, France. Kaê’s style, blending fluidity of contemporary dance with capoeira touch, has led to collaborations with François Frenetik, Zombeavers, and Saïdo Lehlouh, among others.
Jerson Diasonama (FR), a hip hop-trained dancer, collaborates with various choreographers, enriching his eclectic body language. Notable works include collaborations with Saïdo Lehlouh and Johanna Faye. In 2017, he founded Essenscorp, exploring movement aesthetics, with his performance Core winning 3rd prize at Danse élargie competition in 2022.
Chasing butterflies
This performance explores the tension between being and striving. In a world that glorifies productivity, the dancers navigate the space between ambition and presence. Through movement, they embody familiar struggles — self-doubt, pressure, and comparison — and pose a central question: Where is the balance between becoming and simply being? Co-created by the performers, this piece mirrors the human experience, inviting reflection, connection, and the reminder that we’re not alone in this journey.
