CROSSROADS + MUSIC BINGO (MTV Edition)
18.00 = CINEMA CAFÉ OPENS
DRESS CODE: Y2K encouraged. Low-rise jeans, butterfly clips, cargo pants, velour tracksuits, chunky platform trainers, tiny tops, and frosted tips. Dig out whatever you wore to school in 2002, or recreate the era from TikTok. Both count.
19.00 = MUSIC BINGO
This round is the TRL era in full: Britney, boy bands, Eminem, Destiny's Child, Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, and everything else that owned MTV between 1997 and 2003. The songs you knew every word to without ever meaning to learn them. The ones that played at every school party, every sleepover, every bedroom ceiling you stared at in 2002.
If you were there, you'll feel it in your bones. If you were too young, or not yet born, trust us, you already know these songs. That's how big they were.
No music knowledge needed. Just listen, mark your card, and sing along louder than everyone else. Small prizes along the way, one final winner, and bragging rights all summer.
20:30 = "CROSSROADS" (2002)
“Crossroads,” directed by Tamra Davis, 2002, 93 minutes / Three childhood friends, a road trip, and a Britney Spears at the height of her powers. It's campy, it's emotional, it's completely of its time, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
