A peaceful gardener is wronged by a wealthy neighbor but refuses to give up his fight for dignity. The Gardener’s Year interweaves Karel Čapek’s classic literary reflections on a gardener’s joys and struggles with a contemporary true story of injustice and perseverance.

Director Jiří Havelka is widely recognized for bridging the experimental with the accessible. In this film, he crafts a moving and humorous tale of human strength and dignity. Lead actors Oldřich Kaiser and Dáša Vokatá deliver outstanding and memorable performances.

The screening is presented in collaboration with the Czech Embassy in Copenhagen and will be shown with English subtitles, making it accessible to both Danish and international audiences.
