Embroidery workshop: Flowing sea plants

Immerse yourself in the meditative pace of embroidery as we stitch sea plants together.

Together at the embroidery workshop, we dive deep below the surface into a poetic, undulating world of seaweed and algae, inspired by Flora Danica illustrations and Anna Atkins’ cyanotype photograms.

Embroidery allows space for both meaningful conversation and the joy of shared handiwork, as the work of our hands becomes an act of care for ourselves and our materials.

Agnes Saaby Thomsen is a designer and visual artist working with textiles, clothing, and photography. Her embroidery practice is inspired by the creatures, plants, and anatomy of nature—often with a connection to the sea.

You are welcome whether you are an experienced embroiderer or completely new to the needle; all it takes is a desire to work with your hands and to immerse yourself in a shared creative experience with others.
