Final Descent Into Vinterjazz: Nina Garcia (FR)
With a deliberately minimal setup of guitar, pedal and amplifier, she sculpts dense and volatile sound worlds that move between fragility and force, drawing audiences into immersive spaces of heightened intensity.
Her solo work focuses on gesture and a deep investigation of the instrument’s resonances, limits and hidden textures. Each performance becomes a physical dialogue between performer and guitar, where technical mastery meets radical freedom and raw poetry emerges through tension, vibration and rupture. Her approach feels less like a solo and more like an encounter between two equal forces.
Alongside her solo practice, she performs in Autoreverse with Arnaud Rivière, in duo with Maria Bertel and Camille Émaille, in the rock band mamiedaragon, and as a member of the improvisation ensemble Le Un. She has collaborated with artists including Sophie Agnel, Stephen O'Malley, Fred Frith and Leïla Bordreuil. Her work has been presented on major international stages and within contexts such as Shape+ and GRM, and she is also active in developing experimental music formats for children and young audiences.
