​Jinna Mutune Odede

Jinna Mutune Odede is an internationally renowned Kenyan filmmaker, producer, director, writer, and cultural entrepreneur who has spent nearly two decades using storytelling to share new perspectives on Africa through film, documentaries, theatre, and digital campaigns. She is the founder of Pegg Entertainment in Nairobi, and her work has been showcased on global platforms including UNESCO, Yale, Berlin, and USC California. Through her work at the intersection of film, gender, and culture, Jinna is dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and inspiring social change.

Cocoa Dreams

Set in the humid fields of Muhoroni, Kenya, Cocoa Dreams follows Jaber, a nuclear physicist who returns home after the death of her grandmother to inherit the family’s sugar farm. As she attempts to transform it into a cocoa plantation, her vision collides with unresolved family tensions, forcing her to confront what it truly means to inherit both land and legacy.
