Halloween Ball

On this most sacred of evenings, we invite you to something as unholy as an authentic folk dance ball! Whether you prefer to dance close or leave room for the holy ghost, you should definitely join! Vals, polka, schottische – you name it, everything is welcome as long as IT IS FOLK!!!!

Come alone or bring your friends – whether you're an experienced dancer, a beginner, or just curious, you're welcome to experience the magic and community of a folk dance ball in 2025.

What is a folkdance ball?

There will be three bands from the Nordics (we have guests from across Øresund), playing traditional Nordic folk music for the ball. The musicians will set the tone for the evening's dances. There will be a mix of couple dances and group dances, so don't hesitate if you've never tried folk dancing before; the musicians and seasoned dancers will guide you through the group dances.

What is a jamsession?

If you play an instrument, bring it along! In traditional style, we'll end the evening with an open jam session where anyone who wants to can join the musicians on stage and play along.
If you don't play music, keep the fire burning on the dance floor.

Oh, and about “Halloween”:

Costumes welcome but not required. The only requirement is that you want to have fun (and maybe enjoy a little coffee punch, but no pressure).
