K!ART: COMPILATION
‘Composition is a game where I move energy around.’
This is how Jens Peter Møller describes his approach to creating music. It is a statement full of immediacy, but behind the words lies an intense and alert awareness. Through numerous trips to Ghana, Burkina Faso and Mali, he has acquired a sense of rhyme as a phenomenon that arises in the space between the musicians. It is a collective feeling; no one keeps the beat for the others – everyone carries it. Small shifts are not mistakes, but a way of expressing life. As a musician and composer Jens Peter Møller operates somewhere between free improvisational music, funk, African rock music, traditional drum music, new music, classical music and jazz.
The evening opens with percussionist Kalle Hakosalo presenting two solo works - the Danish premiere of Music Box Music (2025) by composer Mads Emil Dreyer paired with a work by composer Cathy Van Eck.
