Kelly's heroes
Clint Eastwood’s Kelly leads a rogue crew of American GI’s who are on a journey to steal 14,000 gold bars located in Nazi occupied France.
The picture is helped along by great chemistry between the leads including a fast talking sergeant played by Tom Salavas and Donald Sutherland wielding laidback hippie attitude.
Of all the World War II cult movies, perhaps this one is the most rewatched and beloved by its fans, and its cheerfully cynical look at the war was a good fit for the early 70s.
