The Three Tenors

A historic finale to the Copenhagen Jazz Festival featuring three outstanding tenor saxophonists and a stellar rhythm section.

Paradise Jazz bids farewell to HUSET with a closing concert that ties back to its beginnings 27 years ago. Back then, Paradise Jazz marked its debut as a new jazz venue with the concert “The Three Tenors”—now the format returns as a powerful finale before HUSET closes for renovation.

On stage are three of the country’s leading tenor saxophonists: Jesper Løvdal, Jakob Dinesen, and Kasper Sundby. They carry on the legacy of the iconic constellation of earlier times—Jesper Thilo, Bent Jædig, and Tomas Franck—and offer their take on what contemporary Danish jazz sounds like when it is at its most intense and tightly knit.

Behind them stands a band with both an international outlook and solid ensemble playing. Thai pianist Warit Tonnam Techakanont is a guest at the festival and will perform alongside Rune Fog on bass and Andreas Fryland on drums. Together, they create a concert experience full of energy, dynamism, and the joy of playing.

The concert marks not only an ending but also a new chapter. Starting in the fall season, Paradise Jazz will continue its concert activities at a new location as we move out of Huset.

The audience can look forward to an evening where history converges in the present—and where Paradise Jazz puts a striking full stop with a concert that looks both back and forward.
