Paradise Jazz: Jan Harbeck Quartet

Experience Jan Harbeck Quartet, one of Denmark’s leading jazz ensembles, in a concert filled with swing, emotion and a unique sense of presence.

When Jan Harbeck Quartet takes the stage at Paradise Jazz, the audience can expect an intense and intimate concert experience where the music creates a rare connection between band and listeners. After 18 years of playing together, the quartet has developed a distinctive and personal sound that is instantly recognizable, making them one of the most respected ensembles on the Danish jazz scene.

Their fifth album Balanced has been praised as a musical high point. Featuring nine new compositions, the album has received acclaim both in Denmark and internationally: “A deeply sensitive masterpiece” (Jazz Special, DK), “A magnificent saxophonist playing on a magnificent saxophone” (Radio France) and “Jan Harbeck is a star in Denmark…” (Rolling Stone Magazine).

Harbeck now performs on Stan Getz’s iconic 1939 tenor saxophone, whose warm and resonant tone shapes both the album and the live concert. Together with Henrik Gunde (piano), Eske Nørrelykke (bass) and Anders Holm (drums), he creates music where tradition and modernity merge into a vibrant and elegant expression.

The audience can look forward to an evening of swing, sensitivity and atmosphere, delivered by a quartet at the very top of Danish jazz.

Line-up:
