The fight for resources

How are conflicts handled when private companies and states exploit natural resources in areas inhabited by indigenous communities? Gain insights from Brazil, Cambodia, and DRC-Congo.

Join us as three international experts share their insights on conflicts between private companies, state actors, and indigenous communities in resource-rich areas. We’ll explore examples from Prey Lang forest in Cambodia, mining conflicts in DRC-Congo, and the impact of national parks in Brazil.

The event will feature short presentations followed by Q&A sessions and a broader discussion on the societal impacts and potential solutions. The event is in English and facilitated by Bjørn Nygaard (ideThandling) and Mie Roesdahl (Conducive Space for Peace).

The speakers are in Denmark as part of a course on environmental conflict management hosted by the Danida Fellowship Centre.
