KaniBalkan

KaniBalkan is a trio born from a deep passion for European traditional music, the joy of connecting with audiences, and a long-standing musical friendship.

Rooted in Romani music and Balkan traditions, the band blends traditional songs with original compositions, seasoned with desert guitar, Latin American grooves, storytelling, playfulness, and irresistibly danceable rhythms. The result is a vibrant and expressive musical universe that invites audiences to both immerse themselves in the music and move with it.

Now, KaniBalkan is ready to release their first record. In autumn 2026, the trio will unveil their debut EP, Live Momentum, recorded over two blazing-hot concert nights at Teater Momentum in Odense. The EP captures the band's greatest strengths: their electrifying live energy, close musical interplay, and the unique connection between performers and audience. It presents the music exactly as it unfolds in the moment—spontaneous, intimate, and full of life.

The first taste of the release is the single Alim Kokoriko Bijav—a song about wandering alone through the night with no one to dance with. It is a melancholic and longing tale carried by hypnotic rhythms and the distinctive blend of melancholy and joie de vivre that defines KaniBalkan’s sound.

Armed with a rich array of instruments and boundless musical energy, KaniBalkan creates concerts that move freely across traditions, cultures, and continents, embracing both intimate moments and joyous communal celebration.
