The Little Culture Night * Linocut Printing at Nikolaj Kunsthal

The Little Culture Night takes over Copenhagen on 13 March, and at Nikolaj Kunsthal we once again welcome young visitors for a hands-on encounter with contemporary art

This year, we invite children to take part in a linocut printing workshop, where they can experiment with creating their own prints using imagination and curiosity as their main tools. We’ll provide all the materials — you just need to show up in a playful mood and with your The Little Culture Night pass in hand.

You’re welcome to drop in anytime between 4–8 pm.

The workshop is facilitated by Lawrence Ebelle, curator of the current exhibition "Rest and Routine – Duet for Sanatorium and Modern Hospital", created by artist Cecilie Penney for the project space Platform at Nikolaj Kunsthal. The workshop centres on linoleum — a material also featured in Penney’s installation — so we encourage you to explore the exhibition space for inspiration before making your own print.

Your culture pass also grants access to our current exhibition "Københavnerstykker II".

Special thanks to Træbutikken for generously donating the linoleum for the workshop.

More About Den Lille Kulturnat

Den Lille Kulturnat (The Little Culture Night) grew out of Kulturnatten, where there has long been strong demand for events tailored specifically to children. This sparked the idea of creating a Culture Night entirely on children’s terms. This year marks the fourth time Copenhagen and Frederiksberg open up in this way — dedicated exclusively to young audiences. Den Lille Kulturnat is the Culture Night you know, but with a programme designed just for children.

Culture passes for Den Lille Kulturnat can only be purchased digitally via the Kulturnatten webshop. The pass costs DKK 125 for anyone over the age of 12. One culture pass allows you to bring two children under 12 free of charge to all events. The pass also serves as valid travel on buses, trains and the Metro in zones 1–99 from 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm on 13 March. Here, too, one adult may bring two children under 12 free of charge.
